Definitely growing!

You get two pictures today thanks to getting too busy to blog after taking the first picture.

The one on the left was at 21 weeks and 6 days.

The one on the right is at 22 weeks and 3 days. I definitely notice a difference. And not just in the pictures. but in the way I feel. It feels like I had a second "pop" where all of a sudden I felt my belly got bigger super quick.

If you haven't heard, our baby is a girl!! We're super excited about finding out, but we were caught way off guard. For some reason almost everyone around me had a feeling that it was a boy... coworkers, friends, us. So we were pretty shocked when the ultrasound tech said, "I'm sorry Dad, it's a girl!" With what the ultrasound tech showed us, they're 99% sure it's a girl so we're pretty much only talking about girl names and are pretty comfortable getting a few girly things (although we of course want to have mostly neutral things of the reusable things if/when we have another child and it ends up being a boy).

We sent pink flowers to Garet's Mom at work to announce that it was a girl and sent my parents to a bakery in Charleston, SC (where they were on vacation) to find out by getting 6 pink cupcakes with "it's a girl" written on them. Pretty clever if I do say so myself! It was hard to wait until they got to the bakery though. I kept texting them while I was at work asking when they would get there. Finally, I got to talk to them and hear their reaction. It was fun getting to tell everyone else throughout the following days too!

At our ultrasound (on April 11th) our baby was 11 ounces, which was at the 52nd percentile. She had a strong heartbeat still and was altogether healthy! She has to be A LOT bigger now because I feel her moving and kicking all the time! It's weird to feel, especially when I'm trying to do work at the office, but is fun to feel and focus on while I'm sitting on the couch after dinner.

We are hopefully going to complete our gift registry soon, which will be one more big thing taken care of. We visited/took a tour of the apartment we are moving into this summer before the baby is born and are planning out where to put the baby and that she is going to have. Thankfully the apartment is about 1,100 square feet so we will hopefully have enough room!

Time is going by so fast that I can't believe it's almost May. We are trying to plan out our trip to Michigan in June, which is coming up quickly. Work keeps me busy. Work and school is keeping Garet VERY busy.

As always, comments are welcome!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter all! You get another belly picture today. And a bonus picture of Garet and I after Easter dinner if you scroll down.

The baby is 19 weeks and 3 days along now! Everything is going by so quickly. It seems like it was so far off that we were going to have our next ultrasound and find out the gender, but it's coming up THIS Wednesday now, April 11th!!

I've been feeling pretty good lately. Have had a few weird feelings like not feeling very hungry for a few random days and feeling pressure on my ribs. These were both attributed by my coworkers to my organs being moved and squished around. Makes sense to me.

We had a wonderful Easter dinner at The Cook's House (the family that leads our small group through our church). They got a
honey-baked ham and everyone else brought some yummy food. We brought sweet potato casserole and bacon wrapped sausage... both soo good if I do say so myself. We even had an easter egg hunt with eggs hidden by the Cook's teenage son. It must have been a scene to see a bunch of adults running around a seminary house backyard picking up eggs!

We had a few days of about 90 degree weather lately, which reminded me of how hot it will be everyday this summer. Dresses work best as I don't have any dress capris that aren't lined for winter. I am yet to find dress capris that fit comfortably. I am trying Old Navy later this week as I have a $10 off coupon and saw some online that might do the job.

I am getting some new opportunities at work, which make it less stressful and more interesting and fun for me. With some management changes, they've finally realized that they can get get better billing for our program by giving me more individual therapy clients (this is really what I want to do with my degree). If I can make my caseload about half case management and half therapy it will be somewhat less stressful and a lot easier to stay in the office when I am further along in my pregnancy too.

So I guess we'll being telling people later this week if the baby is a boy or a girl... look forward to it!!!
