Mommy and Norah at home

Norah in her woombie

Norah's first bottle
3 weeks 4 days... so big already!
Calling myself Mommy is pretty easy... I think I fit the role pretty well. My new life is very different and will continue to change more and more from what I hear from other moms. I'm okay with that... it'll never be boring again. So it won't be boring at work or home... I have set myself up for an interesting life haven't I?

For right now I get to hang out with Norah at home. I had six weeks off from work, which is going by super quick. I often don't get much done around the house especially if she decides to be fussy and just want to be cuddled. Don't get me wrong... I love the little cuddlebug, but then I don't get anything done. Expect short blog posts if any.

I'd love to be able to share so much about the wonderful weekend that Norah decided to finally grace us with her presence, but it's long and I'm still hoping those "forget how bad labor was" hormones I kept getting told about before her birth will kick in. No such luck. It would come off rather whiny anyways. LONG story short, she was overdue and after being induced and going to the hospital three times I had to have a c-section due to her heart rate dropping and labor not progressing quick enough.

A big thanks to my Mom who pretended to be patient for about 5 days for Norah to arrive. I'm pretty sure she was disappointed each time we went to the hospital saying that we'd hope to have a baby the next time we saw her only to come home without one. I was spoiled to have her meet Norah just hours after she was born. I was also very spoiled afterwards to have many loving visitors in the hospital who kept me entertained (especially mom and Jen who spent hours holding and burping Norah) and more family at home who held Norah so I could sleep and shower. Lots of people told me I wouldn't want others around right after she was born, but I think my family was pretty darn helpful to have around!

Norah's trip to the Zoo

Bethany, my parents, and I recently took Norah to the zoo in Forest Park.  She slept through most of it, but woke up just in time to get her picture taken with the elephants.

Everyone is happy, healthy, and getting some rest.

What is your plan for the day?

We are in the hospital, epidural is in, and we are now trying to sleep and wait.  More info when she is ready.
