Hanging Out!

Trying out the crib.
The one time she was quiet at church...after the service was over.

Someone really loves her daddy.  I think she is rather cool too.

Beau and Clementine are not that amused with Norah.  They are becoming interested in her toys though.  We will have to see how this goes in the future.

Norah is always very aware of when we have the camera or cell phone out.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Norah and I enjoyed some football...

She is not too sure about Jen.

Fall Break Videos!

Norah spent some time talking with Bethany tonight.  If you can translate for us, let us know.

Fall Break with Daddy!

I am currently in the middle of a 2 week break from seminary courses.  This has let me spend some wonderful time hanging out with Norah.  My break started out with a visit from my parents.  I know they enjoyed there time down visiting.  We went to the arch and Norah wanted her picture taken with a bison.

She also really enjoys hanging out on her mat and blankets and playing with me.  I get a kick out of her smile every time.  Hopefully I learn to not given into it too much when she is older.

She has also been working on sitting up.  She has great control over her head and neck.  We are just waiting for her to roll over.  I think we are only a few days away from it happening.

Norah really enjoys playing in the air with me.  And it serves as a great work out.  I don't have to worry about going to the gym to pick up a 15 lb weight, I have my own at home.

During break, we have also hung out at Crave, visited Bethany at her work, played basketball, had a chocolate fondue party, and learned about Batman.  We might visit the mall tomorrow.  I really have enjoyed this time, and I get to do it again in 5 weeks during Christmas break.

Until next time,
Garet

9 weeks old!

Norah all "ducked" out... haha
Fell sleep on Grandma
Norah is 9 weeks old today. Crazy. I am excited that she is growing and healthy!

Mommy is back at work. I went back after 6 weeks instead of the 8 I could have taken because I had a c-section. Partly because of money, partly because I am pretty sure I am not cut out to be a stay at home mom, and partly because I like some of the stuff I get to do at work. I returned to come very happy co-workers as they were excited for me to take my clients back. My therapy clients were happy to have me back too as they didn't want to continue therapy with another therapist and went 6 weeks without therapy.

I also returned to the opportunity to apply for a new position (I had to wait a year before I could apply and my one year anniversary was 4 days after Norah was born). It would be full-time therapy with clients (adult, children, adolescents) with co-occuring disorders, which for those not in the mental health field basically means they have a mental illness like bipolar or major depression as well as a substance abuse disorder. I interviewed this week and did pretty well from what I could tell, but they really want/need someone with a counseling license (I am still a year away) so I'm not the ideal candidate if there is someone else with a license.

Being gone at work is hard though when I know that Norah is at home doing adorable cute things and growing up. I am convinced that she gets bigger from when I leave her in the morning and when I get home.

We've been getting out of the house a good amount. It is soon to be cold and we probably won't be going out as much then. We went to the zoo a total of three times now, Grant's Farm with some friends, St Charles with my parents, and out to dinner for my dad's birthday. We got a comment from the gentleman at the restaurant saying that he was glad to see we had our baby out to be exposed to germs and such. He also made a comment about her being an alcoholic someday because we were at a brewery, but I think that was because he was a bit intoxicated himself. haha.

Norah loves music, being bounced around, making faces in the mirror. She is getting used to her babysitter, Vivian, and is sleeping pretty well. Actually, she usually sleeps 8-10 hours at once. It is glorious and helps a lot with me going back to work. She is always looking snazzy in all her adorable girly clothes. Even her MSU is girly with fluffy sleeves.

She has her 2 month doctor's appointment on Monday so we'll have an update then I'm sure.

I am writing this pretty quickly so I'm sure there is a lot I'm forgetting that I wanted to write about. I'm going to go spend some more time with gorgeous Norah though as she is awake!
